Fuchs Electronics Appoints Emelia Abotsi to Head HR Operations as CHRO

Emelia Abotsi has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer at Fuchs Electronics Pty Ltd in South Africa. In this role, she will lead HR strategies to further strengthen the company’s innovative culture within the Reunert Group, a leader in applied electronics, ICT, and engineering solutions.  

Abotsi brings extensive experience to Fuchs Electronics, having previously served as People Lead (Executive) at Absa Group, where she managed HR initiatives across the CIB CE’s Office, COO, Legal, Strategy & Business Transformation, ESG, and FRM departments. Her seven years at Absa saw her work on major strategic HR programs focused on culture change, performance management, organizational design, and succession planning.  

About Emelia’s Career

Before Absa, Abotsi was General Manager of Human Resources at McCormick & Company, overseeing HR operations in South Africa with an emphasis on talent acquisition, workforce planning, and HR transformation. She also held a divisional HR role at Edcon, managing employee relations and compliance across multiple business units. Emelia’s career also includes notable experience as a Human Resource Transformation Specialist at Tenova Pyromet, where she led broad-based black economic empowerment and change management efforts. Additionally, she has a background in HR consulting with Deloitte & Touche South Africa and Edcon (CNA), specializing in performance management, recruitment, and career development.  

Fuchs Electronics, known for its expertise in electronic fuzes and ordnance technologies, is part of the Reunert Group, an industrial company founded in 1888 and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
