Rajesh Nair has announced his move to Jindal Steel & Power as Head of HR Commercial. Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) is among India's fastest-growing and largest integrated steel manufacturers. This new role marks the latest chapter in Nair’s impressive career, which includes notable tenures at Tata Motors and Polycab.
In his LinkedIn announcement, Nair expressed enthusiasm about his new position, stating, "After 28 years at Tata Motors across Business and HR roles, and 3 years serving as the CHRO at Polycab, I am excited to join Jindal Steel & Power as the Head of HR, Commercial." At JSPL, Nair is set to leverage his extensive experience to drive HR strategies and contribute to the company’s growth objectives.
Nair’s career began in 1990 at Pertech Computers as a humble Sales Executive. He joined Tata Motors a year later, where he spent nearly 28 years. At Tata Motors, Nair held various leadership positions across sales, marketing, and human resources, culminating in his role as Head of HR-Commercial Vehicles. In this capacity, he successfully managed strategic HR functions for a large team, including leadership development, policy formulation, and diversity initiatives.
In May 2021, Nair transitioned to Polycab as Executive President and CHRO. During his three-year tenure, he was instrumental in setting up key HR verticals such as compensation and benefits, performance management, and talent acquisition. He also played a pivotal role in onboarding senior leaders and introducing new talent programs.
As a seasoned HR professional with over three decades of experience, Nair’s strategic initiatives are expected to significantly enhance organizational effectiveness, talent management, and employee engagement at Jindal Steel & Power.
