Karlheinz Blessing is presently serving as the Chief Human Resource Officer at Volkswagen. He has been presiding at this position since January 2016 when she was appointed by the Volkswagen AG- Supervisory Board as the Volkswagen AG- Board of Management- Member. 

Prior to working with Volkswagen, Blessing used to work at the administration office of the IG Metall and got appointed as the Director at the organization department of the Board of Management of IG Metall. After this, he worked with the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) as the General Secretary, with AG Dillinger Hüttenwerke- Labor Director as the Board Member, and with Holding DHS – AG Dillinger Hütte Saarstahl as the Board Member along with several other leadership roles
