Diane Gershon breezes through to this year’s Top CHRO listings by the sheer inclusive transformation that she has inculcated into the Big Blue’s people practices. She has led multiple initiatives including the instilling of predictive analytics as an essential component of IBM’s global workforce strategy. She has transformed IBM into an agile and outcome-oriented workforce, resulting in IBM being hailed as the #1 in Fortune magazine’s Global Top Company for Leaders study. Diane was a partner at a global consulting firm Towers Watson prior to joining IBM.
She has also incorporated AI and automation into all offerings of the HR function, bringing about over $100 million of net benefits in 2017 through this digital transformation. She has been an external advocate for social issues affecting employees, such as transgender inclusion and bias in AI. Her leadership saw IBM receive the prestigious 2018 Catalyst Award for advancing women in business and being named a Forbes’ Top 10 World’s Best Employer in 2017.
